View Full Version : A question for the board (or the bored)...
Bauch

I am one among many on the esteemed e-RICHIE's waiting list, and it recently occurred to me that I might prefer a color scheme other than the traditional red/white/yellow team color scheme. I think it is beautiful, but perhaps not for me.
:crap:
My reasons for this are personal, probably petty, and not worth discussing, but suffice it to say, I would probably be happiest with some other color scheme.
So, the big question for all you board denizens is this: What other color schemes do you find aesthetically pleasing on a Sachs frame?

Any color you want is the right color. :D
Don't listen to anyone on this board, including me, get the color scheme that sings to you.

Teal and white. With yellow accents. Almost like LB's frame.

but his bikes are steel lugged beauties. So if it looks good on another steel lugged bike, it will look even better on an e-ritchie. If you can't conjur up something on your own, I'd recommed visiting as many galleries as possible for ideas. Visit the galleries at competitive cyclist, kirk, rivendell, etc and see what you can find. For some reason, I always find the colors chosen by Todd Kuzma for his Heron bikes to be "simply" striking. It's ok to copy. Maybe something will knock you over, maybe you'll get really confused. All in the fun.

I don't agree at all. The master is not riding the bike. Bauch is riding the bike. I agree with gasman. Whatever floats Bauch's boat.

bro I guess I don't get it I've never bought a bike based on color. cheers
I think you should have any color you like so long as it's red...white offset, yellow decals.
But there is French blue. This is one of mine. Honestly, a Sachs doesn't realllly come in any color you want, anymore than it comes in any style (like a sloper). There are boundaries, I dare say, and while there are a number of colors...well...ask nicely. Like bespoke suits, say from Huntsman, you sorta' gotta know what you are getting into. At least that's how I understand it.

What eddief said.
I was confused at first, but mine still knocks me over everytime I look at the pix. Pix are all I have while I'm waiting... patiently (HAHA) waiting... silly grin to follow when I finally get to ride it.

Metallic gold or silver seat/headtube panels go great with almost any color. I think Dark green or navy blue with offset panels would ooze style.
Lately, I've been imagining a grey or dark grey solid, like an electrical service panel but a bit darker and of course, with gloss, and red or burgundy contrasting panels. I've never owned a gray bike so my time is due.
I'd also like to see a dark metallic silver with the same panels as above-big, chunky metal flakes. Actually, the silver with any primary/secondary color for panels would look cool.
Or how about painting those sections silver that would traditionally be chromed?
How about a rootbeer brown with gold panels? Or change the root beer to a deep, rich, burgundy or blood red.

for the antithesis paint scheme. White with red panels, Black lettering with yellow outlines. You could go with either white or red saddle/bar tape combo. It would be classy yet racy instead of racy and classy.
imho...

don't you be dropping rank on me with the can and may carp. And, BTW, it was "we". Your adeptitude at pulling these vaguely related photos off the web is beginning to worry me even more than I worry about you, which is commensurate.
Incidentally, do you remember the drummer's name on Hendrix's "Fire". I take him over Peart any day. Where else do I find the drummer of the first part's work?
Incidentally, whatever happened to csb, and, more importantly, why am I only the second person to ask?

I also am on the waiting list,,,,,and I just can't se an e-richie in any other color but red & white or white & red...........maybe if it was my second or third e-richie, but for the first, I think you have to go classic.
maybe I'm boring, but there it is.

PS. I love both Spokes and DBRK's bikes, love the paint, but they are just not right for me.

Check out the Richard Sachs on e-bay that is done in kind of a wine/burgundy color. Totally sweeeet. I think offset with cream or off-white panels would be a very classy take on the traditional red/white palate.
Burnt Orange, white panels. Close enough to red to look like a signature E-Richie, but ORANGE!
I'd perhaps go with green, but even though the world may not have enough green bikes, I do. Currently have three, with green panels against white on another, and have sold at least two other green ones. I think I've covered the waterfront with green.
I think my number comes up in a little over another year.

I thought the first richie bike you get had to be red! =) I actually love the red with cream panels. In addition, other colors would clash with your red e-richie jersey.
