I picked up a cheap new Specialized hubbed front wheel that has a 30 mm aero profile Jalco rim. I'd like to build a rear with the same rim, but never heard of Jalco, and haven't turned up any sources for the rim as yet. Is this a Specialized house brand? I have a CXP30 that would be a close enough match, but I need the nipple inserts for it, and they seem to be hard to come by.

Roval is Specialized's house brand for wheels. far as I know Jalco is a regular aftermarket, but we don't see them often in the US. Could be the same rim as Kinlin, Alex, or several other smaller aftermarket brands.

I built up a set of 36 hole box section 27" Jalco rims for my old fixed gear wheels....double eyelets, satin finish. They were really nice.

My wife had one of the specialized Dolce models that came with Jalco rims. The things were boat anchors, but most likely would last a lifetime.

I believe this is them: http://www.maddux-wheels.com/

If you hover over "rims" on the top pane you'll see JALCO rims. The 270 isn't listed as a current model.

Yeah, the front wheel weighs 800g, so not exactly light. It's 21.5 mm wide and I've been wanting to try some wider rims. A Kinlin 300 is very close otherwise, but about 3 mm narrower. So far I haven't come up with a wide 30mm aero profile rim from anyone. H+Son F30 is the closest, at 30 mm tall and 20 mm wide.

Thanks for the link. The DXT 439 is the closest to what I have, it's a bit wider. And really heavy at 690 g.
