Colnago Tecnos

I'm interested in your experience with the Tecnos. This is the round - not shaped - steel frame of the 90s and early 2000s (I think). Anyway, history and ride quality is what I'm looking for. There's one for sale in my size and I'm wondering if it's right for me.

Btw, this has external cable routing along the top tube, if that would help date it. Yellow, with"Art Decor" paint scheme (the bike rider on the top of the top tube).

I thought the TECNOS by definition had the shaped tubes. Mine has the shaped TT and DT and the tubing sticker says TECNOS tubing. AD11 paint and the through the top tube cable routing. I love it! Bought it NOS off of CL in Seattle and some kind soul on this forum sold me the Prescia fork for a song (and I will always be grateful for that!).

Rides wonderfully. Presently set up with Campy Record, Chorus, Superbe Pro mix 8-speed, DT friction shifters and shod with Campy Electron tubulars. Always gets complimented.

Doesn't one have to be somewhat lightweight to ride a Technos? I thought those frames had a weight limit.

Owned both a Tecnos and a MasterXLight. The Tecnos rides similarly, and theoretically is designed for lighter riders.

I have one. Love the bike. Nice lively ride with Colnago geometry does it for me.

The first models made from El OS and supposedly had a 160 lb weight limit. When they later came out with the tecnos tube set I think they lifted the weight limit.
