I though about it, then ordered a campagnolo 80th anniversary group for every room in my house instead.

Hopefully they will be more reliable than their cars but, judging by the problems BMC has had bringing the Impec to market, I would not bet on it.

Hmmmm. . . 32K?

A Pegoretti Responsorium with Campy

A Firefly Cross / Gravel bike with Dura Ace 9000

A Landshark carbon with Sram Red and and a blingy paintjob

A Moots MTB in your choice of tire size

OR . . . If I was maximizing my bang for the buck . . I could build between 10 and 15 totally fabulous road machines. . .

And where have I seen that yellow and black scheme before?

I'm not sure, but IMO that is one ugly shade of yellow.

I wouldn't pay more than $25,000 for that. Overpriced.

About 22 grand worth of paint. No wonder it's not under 15 pounds.

I don't know what all the griping is about?! After all, this BMC thing is still cheaper than the 16lb Factor-Aston Martin 1-77 which is suppose to retail at $39,000:

Btw, it even has its on video!

From a branding perspective, it's unclear what these co-branded bicycles really accomplish. (And I'm limiting my comments to the Lambo and Aston Martin bikes, not the GMC one)

Usually when you co-brand, the idea is to borrow some brand equity from the other brand. Basically, some of those associations rub off (almost like an endorser brand). I just don't understand how these bike/car co-brands make sense for the car companies, and question the value to the bike brands other than having a super expensive bike act as some sort of anchor for the entire line. Perhaps that's what the bike brand gets, they borrow the ability to have an outrageously priced product.

Still, not sure what the car company gets... seems like a really poor exercise in branding. Maybe they marketing guys for Lambo and BMC played golf together once.

Colnago did this w/ Ferrari too. I think that was the best match out of all of them.

BMW ones are actually not co-branded, it comes out of their own industrial design studio.

That would look very very nice on top of Gallardo or Aventador with Sucker bike rack and park it in front of Starbucks.

Probably little to nothing gained for the car company. That's why the editions are always limited. Car companies probably make more with baseball caps, jackets and coffee cups.

The only things that I can see in the spec list that make this bike a lambo edition are the lambo leather on the saddle and bar tape, and of course the paint.

leather and paint aside, did I miss some premium component and how would the equivalent std bike price out relative to the $32k ask?

Marketing wise, impressions. Right now Lambo and BMC are measuring everything we say.
Also as a marketer you're looking for cinergy you can exploit. High end cycling and high end sports car must index well in the "guy that can afford it" range.
There is a possibility that the bike sales are off setting some negative ROI that might be occurring at Lambo or BMC. You got to figure that this bike will bring back a very positive margin.
But mainly impressions. We're talking about it;)

I think it's a very nice looking bike, much like Lambos are very nice looking cars. Same goes for Ferrari and Porsche.

Now that Aston Martin bike, well that looks like A...

ANybody sis the numbers in that bike?? I mean the electronic group is 3900 at ebay.. then the wheels... 3000 more??? the sadle maybe 500 more? Hmm handlebar and stem.. 900 more?... tubulars or whatever that thing is like 500 more?? plus a 28 thousand dollars frame? :)

Love BMC but this is just stupid ridiculous. Lambo gets like 15 grands for getting their name in there maybe?

Wonder who will buy this, the same people that got the trek LA replica like for 12 thousand a few years ago?

I think BMC needs to start taking dumps in the right bowl, not in the street. The worse thing is that some sucker will buy them, not envy involved just doesnt make any sense, like if they had to create a market to justify the impec or something. Everybody wanted a darn impec but was so f... expensive that maybe only a few hundreds were made, never seen one by the way and I even thought the impec was discontinued or something.

Love BMC bikes, had 2 but they had to keep some models like the old carbon phonak (team i think was the model), hard to get even used, a colnago or a de rosa is easier to get than those old BMCs.

Agree. The only time I've liked a Lamborghini was when I saw one in full livery on a race track. The thing was very fast and did well in the race. But that's the car's home, the race track.

The Impec looks like a great frame that should be raced hard, not cross-branded into a novelty.

But watch, I bet BMC will sell all of those Impec/Lambos. There are people out there with just that kind of money.
