After weeks of difficult weather (by Grnoble standards, at least) we finally had a nice day, and although I had a crazy day at work, I made it home with just enough time for a quick ride up the local hill to Proveysieux and le Gua.

The only issue: we have a new kitten that makes a break for the door every time it is opened, and in my attempt to avoid replacing my ride with an hour of cat wrangling, I locked myself out of the house. Normally not a big deal but I soon realized that I was missing a few things: keys (duh), cell phone ... and helmet! So off I went, helmetless, velotel style, and lived to tell of it. I managed my second fastest time, actually. No wonder velotel is so fast.

Nice pics, must be the aero affect without a helmet but didn't you set the clock ahead an hour? We gained an hour of sun yesterday....Spring forward, Fall back.

Nice house! I assume that you have a few maids on hand? Otherwise house work would keep you off the velo for the duration.

The ride shots are great btw.

Nice pics! Especially the one with the sun just catching the peaks above the Col de Charmette. Gorgeous. You're also cheating. Just turn on your GoPro and let it do all the work. No stopping, getting out the camera, framing, focusing (okay, forget the focus department, automated), shooting, putting all away again. Assuming of course those pics are being generated by the GoPro. You said the new one is way better than the old. I believe you. Nice.

And be honest, didn't riding with your hair free in the air, your brain getting zapped by all the microwaves and goodies like that, maybe a wee bit of radiation just to make it more interesting, oh, forget that, you already work down there in that nuclear rich zone, anyway, didn't riding with no shell on the head feel great? Gotta love freedom.

I admit it: helmet free felt wonderful on the way up; I knew you'd been cheating all along somehow, but just didn't know how. I did feel a little exposed on the way down but I've been taking it easy on the descents anyway: lots of gravel on turns right now, at least over here.

it is indeed the new GoPro, but the stupid thing reset itself so instead of taking one image every minute, it took 2/second! So I had a lot of files to go through, even for a short ride.

no vampires, but lots of wild boar!

I live in the former servants quarters to the Chateau. No 12 foot ceilings for us!
