Are these pedals available yet? Does anyone have any input on their reliability/accuracy?

word on the street is, on their last investor call they are hoping to be available mid-year, but the overall guidance is just "this year"

I seem to remember it being "this year" when I first heard about these, and then again "this year" when Garmin bought them...

If you're trying to factor their availability into a real decision on which power meter to purchase, consider the likelihood that you'll be able to get them in your desired purchase window.

I'm holding out for the Duke Nukem Forever Signature edition of the Vector pedal. Any day now. Any day.

Well,, at least they _are_ listed in the most recent Excel Sports catalog. To wit:

http://www.excelsports.com/main.asp?page=8&description=Vector+Pedal+Powermeter&vendorCode=GARMIN&major=3&minor=15

And the disclaimer says, 'no firm arrival date'.

{sigh}

on a personal note after what i wrote above, i would not expect them to be available for purchase from distro (QBP for instance) until... let's say September at earliest. also wouldn't be amazed if it got pushed back yet again.

in other words if you really want to train with power, get something that is actually in market NOW. i've been very very happy with a Quarq.

on a related note, DR Rainmaker has a indepth (maybe too in depth) review of the POLAR/Look Keo Power Meters.

http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2012/07/polar-look-keo-power-systempedal-based.html

He pretty much trashes the whole product from a durability/functionality perspective. (Great you have left/right power, now what do you do?)

If you want to train with power, I second the advice of a previous poster and suggest getting a reliable working product. Even when Garmin does appear Version 1.0 is bound to have unexpected 'features' like all 1.0 products.

from my post on another site:

Jack Bauer has given up on Garmin. Apparently, holding Garmin under duress and subjecting Garmin to enchanced imterrogation was ineffective. Garmin is telling the truth when they say they can't make a working model.
