Poprad 1x10 questions

Hello all -

I am switching from a SS conversion Poprad to, ideally, a 1x10 on a budget. I am envisioning a barcon on the right side. Already have levers and putting them in a box seems wasteful.

So routes I have identified:

Sram TT500 and a Rival/Force rear mech (10 speed)
Shimano 7700 9 speed barcon and rear mech

Anything to keep in mind?

So... that'll work OK in friction mode, but indexes 9 cogs, not 10...

ah yeah - that would be a 1x9 if i went the 7700 route. I guess its not all that confusing as long as I keep models and gears consistent.
