I see some places list them as 240 "inspired" but does that mean 240? Forgive my ignorance and dumb question but I am assuming they are? Weird that on the dt swiss website they wont just say that it is 240s or whatever they are.

I doubt it. If they were 240 they would not say 240 inspired. 340s are more likely. Weight and price fits the bill of 340s more than 240s aswell.

makes sense, i also see the mon chasseral sets described as 240s inspired, but i remember speaking with a few folks here that they are 240s hubs?

Well i dont know the exact difference between the 340 and 240 other than weight so cant really say that 340s arent as good.

But it has to be some really heavy spokes and rims to make the wheelset come out at almost 1900 grams with 240 hubs. Therefor i dont believe the hubs are 240s

Pretty sure the Mon Chasseral wheels are built with actual 240s, at least that's what my stickers said...before I pulled them off. Maybe they changed that at some point?
