Thinking about building up some wheels to sell but wanted to find out what kind of interest there was before I put in the effort. All aluminum clincher wheels all brand new parts - black hubs - black spokes - black rims.

Option 1 - 1,275 grams for riders up to 180 lbs - $549
Option 2 - 1,425 grams semi aero (30mm) for riders up to 210 lbs - $499
Option 3 - 1,500 grams semi aero (30mm) for riders up to 240 lbs - $499

Another thought was an all USA build.
White Industries T11 Hub
Velocity A23 Rims
Wheelsmith spokes
Somewhere in the 1,400-1,500 gram range not estimated price yet.

Just looking for some idea input and if this is something you would even consider buying :)

One of my friends, hockeybike, is probably very interested. He's looking for a new pair of wide rimmed wheels. I'll tell him to PM you.

I'm just not sure why I'd turn to you instead of Boyd, Williams, Neuvation or my LBS for the All-American build.

None of those products are made in the USA. Boyd and Williams are almost the same rims at that :) I was gearing more toward manufactured and built in the USA.

Sorry it seemed like you were doing Option 1, 2 and 3 (part origin didn't matter) OR an all american build.

Doing an all-american build under 1300g for $549.00 interests me.

couple things:

I think we (the Paceline) would like to support a small operation like yourself, if you go forward with the idea, you could certainly buy into our vendor classifieds section and use that as an outlet for your sales, which i think could help you out.

I think, a wheelbuilder really needs to rely on his reputation to drive sales. Potential customers would probably like to know what your history and experience is building wheels, pictures stories and recommendations from 3rd parties are a bonus.

the prices and weights you're projecting do sound reasonable to me.

I see what you are saying now - Sorry I must have read that weird. Options 1-3 are foreign parts they would basically be similar to something Boyd does like the Vitesse however they are $150 cheaper.

All-American build under 1300g for $549.00 would be amazing, however I don't think it would be possible. I was referring to the White Industries T11 / Velocity A23 rims / Wheelsmith spokes closer to the 1400-1450g range. Which you could buy from your LBS or anything from your LBS which I encourage :)

My goal is to see if its possible to make a solid sub 1,300g - 1,500g wheelset to sell for $500-$550. Thanks for the input. This is just something I was thinking about :)
