El Paso does have some of the nicest people in the world. It has been ranked the safest city in America even though it is only a stones throw from Juarez Mexico which has the worlds highest murder rate.

I have never been able to explain the two extremes other than if people can get out of Mexico to El Paso they seem to appreciate life.

It is also a great bike riding town with mountains and a slower pace of life (and Traffic) but the pollution and wind storms can make some days almost unbearable.
