Biking trip gone south?

Don't want to sound like bad news but sincerely? Peru is not one of the places I would like to go riding a bike ever, neither get lost up in the andes (cuzco area).

Hope they show up soon.

I have Taiwanese friends in Ecuador that have a large biking group and go biking in what I consider dangerous places all the time... Looks exciting to be going 40-50 miles downhill on a deserted street wait, car coming, evasive maneuvers, everyone ok? kind of place and they are all fine.
Seen some amazing waterfalls and scenery of them arriving in their bikes taking a dip in the rivers and riding 3 hrs back to civilization but these are locals who know what trouble looks like and they ride in groups.

I hope they are ok and return safely to their families soon
