Lane change alert as roof rack warning

Anybody think a lane change alert could be modified to protect bikes from hitting garages branches parking garages etc? Instead of a car it could warn you of low overhang

wish I had thought of it first...but there is a mobile phone app that uses the phones gps to sound an alarm when you approach home (or other destination)...probably good for those long days when you drive back home exhausted
