I'm looking for more information on the Ultegra and 105 10-speed cassettes. I would like to know how many cogs are pinned together. Previous experience with their 9 speed cassettes tells me that at least the 105 should have a pinned cassette. I've been using DA 10 cassettes and they are chewing the crap out of my al freehub bodies (CK, AC, DT etc.) I don't mind the weight and wear issues, but would like a cassette that has most of the cogs pinned to alleviate this problem. I know that their mtn cassettes are this way and I have a SRAM road 9spd cassette made this way.

Thanks,

Dave

Just click on the exploded view. All models seem to be built the same way. The only real cure is deeper splines like the new DuraAce 10 hub has, or steel cassette bodies, like Ultegra 10.

Thanks. Now I'd like to see an exploded view of the 105, but haven't found one yet. I even tried the Shimano UK and JP sites.
