Hi all,

Just curious as to what the difference is between the Ultegra 6600 (10 speed) bottom bracket and Dura Ace 7800 (10 speed) bottom bracket (if anything)? The only reason I bring up this question is that mail order catalaogues show them as being the same price...and, I have installed both and cannot see any difference between the two....is there something internal? Weight? Anything?

And, what about the differences between the Ultegra 6600 10 speed cassette and the D/A 7800 10 speed cassette? I mean, besides being 3 x's the $$ and more shiny? I am sure there is a small weight difference....Anything else?

As always, thank you all in advance,

Steve

for the D/A or Ultegra 6600 bearings. If you want to upgrade them to something better. Http://www.bocabearings.com has some nice upgrades to replace them with!

The 4 largest cogs are Ti in Dura-Ace and not Ultegra...

They do however shift exactly the same...

Oh, and did I mention that the DA Ti wears out faster...

DA cassette is 2oz lighter than Ultegra and lasts longer due to the treatment of the metal. You'll wear out the 11/12/13/14/15 cogs well before you ever wear out the ti ones. I've never known anybody to wear out the ti cogs on any dura ace cassette. Cost difference really isn't that much...just bought 2 from performance with 20% coupon and 10% team discount for $95 each.

I haven't use the DA 10 cassettes (have used U10 though) yet, but we've used the 9 speed DA and Ultegra cassettes extensively for cross racing.

We always seem to wear the DA Ti stuff out much faster than the Ultegra's...
