Has anyone tried these things? I'm a GU user but must admit I don't like the mess they make. The nutritional info looks similiar:

but all of the carbs come from sugar. The GU label only lists 3g of sugar with the main ingredeint being maltodextrin. Is this better for cycling performance than plain sugar?
