Never been to NAHBS but I'm curous if I need some "walking around money" for the show.

Is there cool stuff to buy like t-shirts, water bottles, ect?

Yeah, builders often have items like t-shirts, socks, kit and other stuff. Sachs will have some of his dropout bottle openers. Ron Andrews (King Cage) will be there, so presumably he'll have cages. (I think he's also got some sort of new alcoholic beverage accessory this year. Almost as cool as the "bubble blowers" he and Paragon had a few years ago. :) )

I may or may not be selling Soulrun gear out of a backpack, so you need money for that if you see me.

Small bills, I can't break a hundo too many times.

yes, bring walking money, backpack, bottle of water and a camera

camera - besides the bikes, nice to take a pic with some of the builders we appreciate - as well as people like chris king, tom ritchey, gary fisher, etc. yea, I'm that guy. why not?

free stuff - stickers, etc. but dont be a pig

money - tee shirts, king cages, paragon machine works ti bottle opener, don walker whisky glasses. fizik socks, mavic jerseys, NAHBS beer glass and schwag, bailey works bags, sachs toys/books.....nothing you NEED. lots of stuff you WANT.

dont expect to use a credit card so bring a wad of bills from the ATM. I'd suggest $200-300. you might spend nothing, you might spend it all. better to have more than less.

Last year in Sac, I noticed the Chris King booth was selling stuff. Headsets for $100 in a rainbow of colors, that sort of thing.

It's a good start. Good for a few deposits on frames and some left over for swag....:)

how much does that seatpost weigh?

I can only guess that they were trying to duplicate one of those old coil-spring saddles.

fyi, there are a ton of banks two blocks out the front door of the convention center at the 16th street mall...just in case.

$10s and $20s work well for t-shirts, beers and misc swag.
Have someone in your group bring a carrying bag. A daypack or med-lg courier bag works well.

Glad I had some at NAHBS in Austin.

I ended up with a nice fresh supply of King cages and a cool, signed Andy Hampsten poster which has become a conversation starter here on numerous occasions.
