I thought that was too funny until I noticed that it already has a bid. Should be interesting to see where this goes. I guess it is NOS. I'm guessing it could go north of the $1700 BIN.

$1000 current bid for a work of art seems reasonable - those will stay in that shadow box.

I was in my favorite shop in Houston - there's a 25th anniversary DA set and several campy sets in display boxes. Very drool worthy.

What's the shop in Houston? I'm in Austin. I get down there now and again.

Yup, confirmed. Asked ifhe was willing to not do that and he said no. It still seems like a bunch. I can ship an entire bike for 1/3rd the price.

It might be Daniel Boone Cycles. Joy and her family have owned that shop forever. Years ago (in the 80's), they used to let you go behind their counters to rummage for parts. They don't allow that anymore, but they are building a bicycle museum.

Dan at West End Cycles focuses on mountain bikes, but does have some road stuff. He has at least a couple hundred vintage bikes on display in his shop. And no, they're not for sale. I know because I've asked countless times over the past 25 years to buy back my Fat Chance :)
