The station I was listening to on the way home said 34" in Boston.I lived through '78 and that was 28".

If that does happen, I have to believe that things will be a big mess for more than just a day or so. At least the timing is working out well relative to the weekend.

Up in this neck o' the woods we call those snow flurries... ;)

Seriously, if you folks get that kind of a dump I hope everyone is stocked up on food... and beer.

I just want to know if anyone was able to read the thread title without singing it. :)

And though I'm not familiar with storms containing snow, you guys be safe up there.

Hey! I was there too. At Sun Mountain Lodge. Fabulous x-country skiing his year and some fun snow showing as we'll.

Wow, anything over about 18 inches is a lot of snow, 2 feet is epic. Getting close to 3 is pretty close to unimaginable. I think the most I've seen was 30 inches at one point and that brought the whole region to a dead stop for a few days. Digging out the city took weeks down in Philly.

I think we're just supposed to get 1-3 inches out of the edge of this one. Good luck to you folks NYC and north into New England. Hang in there, stay safe... I wouldn't worry too much about riding for a while. Not even a fatbike should be any good in THOSE kinds of volumes....

I think it's just a Weather Channel thing. It gives them more media chances to show the "epicness" of each event. They've even got a new talking head, "the winter storm expert", wearing the tie with all the monitors around him, just like the hurricane expert. Run for your lives.

. . . from Little Rock in late 1966 when I was 6. I had scarcely seen snow before. In January '67 we had a 36 inch storm.

Several years ago Buffalo got 76 inches in one storm.

So, you're still long waiting for an additional 12 pts (0.8%) to sell?
