Anybody in the Savanah Ga area?

My wife and I are considering purchasing a building lot in the Guyton/Rincon area for when we retire in a few years. Is there a cycling club in the area? Are the drivers relatively courteous to cyclists? Our son has lived in the area for 2 years but does not ride so he cannot answer any of these concerns. Any information is greatly appreciated. My buddy lives there now. There are a couple of clubs one of which is affiliated with the school (SCAD) there is also the savannah wheelmen. I've visited a few times and taken bikes, its not what I would call a good riding area. really flat and really boring.
