For those of you that had followed my thread on the switch to 25 mm wide tires, I'd like to follow up on my ride observations. First I swaped Hutchinson Gold Comp 23 to the same brand 25 which really measured 23.5 mm on the width and I am sorry I never measured the old 23's now. Not that my Hors ever steered too fast, and Kelly Beford told me that my 58 cm frame had a trail of about 5.6 with the 73.5 HTA and 43 mm rake fork I just fell in love with the new Serotta geometries with 73 HTA and 43 mm rake forks with trail numbers approaching 5.9. Well switching to a relatively fatter tire and running about 10 psi less pressure in the tubes to 90 psi versus 100 psi I am really pleaseD to say that I can and have taken my hands off the bars at speeds of + 30 mph going down River Road in Potomac on the same loop I have done a million times. WOW what a huge difference riding with just one bump up size tire will do. I strongly suggest that you give this a try. Fact is I will send this report to Kelly to let him know what I have just observed. Makes me wonder what the bike would handle like if I truly had a 25 mm wide tire like a Michelin Pro! Anyway I am tickled to death about what the handling now feels like not that I did not like it before BUT I must say the new Serotta's ride like they are on RAILS and very high speed with their new front end spec's.

My experience with Continentals (25 mm.) was not as favoable.
They were definitely slower. That was my take. But.....truly an excellent training tire. Whatever you like!

Bontrager Race X-Lites, 700x23, 700x25 and 700x28. The 28's won't clear an Ouzo Pro fork so run the 25's. You will never ride a better clincher. Take it to the bank.
