I have a stupid question that I should know the answer to (and could easily google). Was M950 XTR mid to late 90s? Was it 8 or 9 speed? I have a Fat Chance Wicked that I don't use much, but I always feel guilty that I put some non period correct parts on (SRAM drive train), and I'd live to go back to Shimano that matched its Syncros Revolution cranks, Scott bar, and forged Ritchey stem. That way, when I'm pulling my kids around in their trailer I would feel more "authentic." Anyway, is my dating right on this stuff?

Oh...nevermind. Too slow avalonracing, huh?

The 950 series was introduced as an 8 speed group in 1996 and morphed into 9 speed when Shimano chose to add the extra sprocket in 1999.
