Did they really slice those wheels for this display?

The wheels were no good anymore. Here is the video of cutting the wheels:

Bunch of great photos of the shop on VSalon.

That might be the dumbest thing I've seen come out of Serotta.

I think it's somewhat interesting. As long as they didn't destroy anything that was still useable to do it.

dude, it's a retail display at a store made of surplus frame parts (in the best bike shop on the east coast, imo).

structural foam. It's the reason Lightweight wheels don't sound like echo chambers and amplify every pebble you ride over.

Pretty sure that is from the new/remodeled Signature Cycles store. I don't know how much Serotta had to do with the concept or execution beyond supplying the frame.

it would have been nice if they could have kept the piece of the rear rim between the stays, attached by three spokes to the flange and pinned to the wall.

I don't understand ... who are the Serotta folks trying to entice with that display?

Is it to the high-end custom buyer?

Are they trying to lure first-timers?

Does this mean they're going all carbon?

Are all their bikes going to be lugged?

Are they adopting the Henry Ford model, in that you can have any color of bike as long as it's black?

What do they have against round handlebars? Stems? Seatposts? Cranks? Left-side butt cheeks?

What is the marketing plan?!?!?!?!?!?!?
