Am I seeing this correctly?

It appears to be against the high limit screw at rest. What's the reason? Better with twist shifter?

I believe the two types of front derailleur are called leading action and trailing action, but I can't remember which one is which, pull to go big vs pull to go small. You would think that pull to go to the big ring would be the logical way to to, so you can let the spring do the easier shift.

Ah, the old 'high-normal' derailleur design - a solution in search of a problem. High-normal front derailleurs have been around for more than 50 years - the Suntour Spirt used this design in 1966. The history of high no-normal rear derailleurs is even older - closer to 100 years. Most rod plungers (like the old Cyclo derailleurs) were high-normal.

Unfortunately, the high-normal design addresses a small problem, but ends up creating a larger problem, and although the design periodically pops up from time to time, it is soon abandoned (again).

Thanks. Anyone know if this required a different shifter? I'm pretty sure there was a Quarz low normal FD.
