Somebody spent an awful lot of time putting this all together and it shows. Fantastic presentation.

BTW, the Cardiff Giant is an exhibit now at the Farmer's Museum in Cooperstown. I had seen pics of it in books, but had never expected it . . . my first visit to the Farmer's Museum and I walked into this tent expecting to see a tractor, but instead it was the real deal!

Also, when you see it in the, ah, flesh you'll see why they named it the Cardiff, er, "Giant" . . . :rolleyes:

The drivetrain is on the wrong side of the bike in most but not all of the pictures in that link. I guess that changed the second time the modern safety bicycle was invented.

The bikes were made in England, so of course the gearing is on the "wrong" side.
