I post this half seriously. The book has a few good basic plans (7 week programs) for beginners, intermediates and advanced. It does not require a lot of planning or thought about peaking, etc. Just do the workout on the prescribed day, sticking to the HR zones.

It is also cheap. So you won't be out too much cash. Unfortunately, there are no PEDs that come with the book, so it's not really his FULL program.


If you want to go more serious, check out Joe Friel's training bible, although recent additions may use power more than HR.
