Dig it... Not sure if my next bike or repaint will have this color scheme or not but I have been diggin on the BNSF Warbonnet lately, since the train tracks are right by my house. Would be cool to race the train on a bike in team train colors!

Can't seem to find a good example, but I love candy green over silver!
I'd love it even more if it had candy green to silver fade, or some kinda silver blocking, like this. Only the green should be a little more silver.

If you figure out how to get a Warbonnet on a bike, let me know. I've been thinking about that for years. I've assumed their isn't enough surface area to do it well, but you never know. I'd even think about a War Pumpkin scheme, but it is hard to beat the sliver and red.

I've been driving down the the Springs for work recently and see two or three trains a day on the Joint Line, so I'm getting my fill these days.

AgilisMerlin,

Now those panels are highly colored, but much nicer than the Bimmer. But there is more than just colored lines involved. There are meaningful forms created by the lines.

Now here is something done similarly that could look cool on some bikes. Though putting it on a frame so it made sense would take some real artistry or it would look too yucky. And even in this case it is borderline yucky on this car. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gfXupHOEhH0/TIagIh2ATDI/AAAAAAAAR8s/Da9BI-8VrAo/s1600/Jag-Car-Paint-Job.JPG

But maybe BMW was more inspired by this:

Matt, I just got around to watching this. Interesting.

As they mention in passing, it's related to the broader issue of mind and consciousness. A while back (I think it was last X-mas) my sister gave me two books on consciousness, so I've sort of had that stuff "on my mind" (so to speak).

Is all that in one season? If so, that's got to be a huge waste.

How many times do they use a given uniform? How many uniforms per player does the average college football team use in a given year?

That is all from one season. Oregon is notorious for switching their uniforms every game - Nike is headquartered there and pays for it all as a combination donation/marketing ploy. Recruits seem to like it.

Hard to swap out bike colors that often.

Pearl black looks good too.

Had a bike that color. Looked black till the sun hit it, then turned a deep, metallic blue.

Now THIS I like!
Why do bikes always have to have such cliched schemes, like fades and diagonal cuts/sections? And has there been a mass-market carbon bike in recent history that didn't have a swoosh of color at the headtube?

I'm a fan of utilitarian, industrial, graphics. And this might be the only scheme like this I've ever seen (although Dave K's personal cross bike has a look reminiscent of this).

Car racing had some great inspirations - the gulf design has -predictably :) - been mentioned already!

Also the "Gold Leaf" Lotus was nice

http://www.jochen-rindt.at/Lotus72-1.JPG

I always loved Otl Aichers famous color concept for the '72 munich olympic games:

http://www.designboom.com/tools/WPro/images/11t/oa1.jpg

For testing color schemes, i find webservices like http://www.colorhunter.com useful (check out http://www.creativebloq.com/colour/tools-colour-schemes-12121430 for a selection)

"Sphere (http://mudcu.be/sphere/)" gives you a color circle and supports several algorithms to find matching or complementary colors. Just playing with the options is fun!

"colorhunter" is for web designers primarily, but it allows you to upload a picture you like and it will give you the according colors - cool!

So a picture like this:

http://forums.thepaceline.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=1697871812&stc=1&d=1385809118

will give you a palette like this:

Here's the VeloCals color chart --- they call it Celeste 935 but I've no idea who's color chart they use. I had a Bianchi re-sprayed metallic gray and used their decals --- they matched up very well with a celeste saddle (San Marco) and celeste tape (Fizik). Might be a good place to start. I imagine if you get one of the better known bike painters out there, they already know what is needed.

I always though white with a green polkadot, white panels and red borders would look good.

Similar to the 7 Eleven scheme.

Team Krispy Kreme rolls right off the tongue!

Someone really needs to get them as a sponsor - that would totally show the world that doughnuts are good for you!

Not sure if this will come through. It is a rock lobster linked from their Facebook page. Light blue with the yellow logo, and gold seat tube collar. I dig it.
