. . . that this may be the poll for INTERNATIONAL cyclist of the year, but there’s certainly nothing INTERNATIONAL about the body of voters. VeloNews is an overwhelmingly American publication. The stampede for Lance doesn’t surprise me at all, given that fact.

I suspect that Boonen would trade his Flanders, P-R, and Worlds victories for a GC victory in the Tour. I certainly would.

However I did vote for Boonen as the cyclist of the year.

Sad. They could put Armstrong on the ballot next year and he'd win.

I admire what he's done, but Boonen, DiLuca. These guys performed all year and won all year.

I think it would have to be between Boonen and DiLuca.
