Well, not really, but he got as many UCI points as if he did.

From Inner Ring: "A reminder that Slagter wins as many points from winning the Tour Down Under as if he’d won the Dauphiné, Tour de Suisse or a spring classic like Paris-Roubaix or the Tour of Flanders."

Seems a little crazy to me. But what isn't crazy about the UCI these days.:rolleyes:

I don't pay attention to rider rankings anymore, but that's absurd. Obviously it's attempt to bring about the "mondialisation" of cycling, but it does too much damage to the history of the sport. Pretty soon the Tour of Burkina Faso will be the equivalent of the Giro...

If you include the stomach issues at Burkina Faso, finishing it is about as hard as riding the Giro :)
