Unfortanately for me the bonfire I'll be lighting tonight will not be in celabration of Guy Fawkes Day but rather to keep me warm. Day 11 of no power, and counting :crap: . At least a cold front came through today and sleeping will be easier, last night it was warm and humid as all get go. :crap: YUK! :crap:

Guy Fawkes Day is November 5, a fact pounded into me during a few childhood years in England when I got to miss July 4, Halloween, Labor Day, Memorial Day and Thanksgiving for the joys of Boxing Day and Pancake Tuesday.

We finally moved back to America when I was 14 and I got to go out with some kids for my only candy collecting Halloween ever, only to be greated by a crotchety old woman who said, "You're a little old, aren't you?"

As a wee pale one my Gran taught us this rhyme.

Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot...

Bonfires are cool!
