Can any of y'all weigh in on the Vittora 1976 shoes? I've wanted a pair for years and now that I'm ready to pull the trigger, I'm having trouble find some for my size 13US feet. In most bikes shoes, I'm a 47 or 48. since these are supposed to run small, I'd be looking for a 48, which I don't think they make.

Any leads or advice on another (2 bolt-compatible) classy shoe?

After I clicked send, I remember Dromarti has two:

Sportive Classic (http://www.dromarti.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10_29_13&products_id=15)

Sportivo Black (http://www.dromarti.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10_28_26&products_id=29)

No first hand experience, but from what I've read, seem to be good quality. Regardless, definitely classy

And some Dromarti Sportivos just appeared in the classifieds:

I picked up a pair of the vittoria shoes a while back that I have not yet put into use. I wear a 47 in a sidi and the 47 vittoria shoe is a bit more snug in the toe box. I'm guessing that it will stretch out a little bit with use.

My first road shoes were Vittorias with laces. They were great shoes. I'd probably still have them except the rodents chewed them up, presumably for the salt that had accumulated in them. I recall them being a bit snug in the toe area, but I think I wore the same size as in Sidi.

I raced on Vittorias with the wood soles for years. I still remember how much they hurt on the first few rides until my feet conformed to their shape.

Info@vittori-shoes.com.

Thanks. I wrote them yesterday and got a personal, detailed response this morning giving me the names of some shops and recommending one that stocks a lot of the 1976 series. Very impressive.

BTW, their e-mail is info@vittoria-shoes.com

If you are looking for a classic shoe, have you looked at the Giro Empire in black?

Wow those are some nice looking shoes. I got a huge foot like the OP though, more like a 49.

I have a couple pairs of the Dromarti classic race, and can say I really enjoy them.

The first generation had 3k woven carbon soles, the newer version has a molded plastic. No difference in performance or feel, but the carbon sole with the leather upper did look really good.

...

How was the fit? I.E. what other shoes do you wear shoes and their size along with the dormati size? Are ther narrow or wide?

Thanks,

They are narrower in the toe box than my Shimano, but wider than Bont. Really quite similar in fit to Specialized S-works.
