My understanding of the Caloi brand was that Merckx manufactured those with the Caloi name for a Merckx distributor in South America, possibly the distributor was named Caloi? Not 100% sure about it. FWIW

I believe Caloi is a brazilian brand. A few years ago, I bought an old Caloi alum MTB frame over on ebay. It's cheap...it's minimal. :)
