View Full Version : Cycling clothing repair?

Does anyone have any suggestions for repairing tears in cycling clothing?

I went down on Saturday, and slid across some pavement. My jacket and tights took most of the damage, I have only a little road rash on my arm.

I'm wondering if there is any chance of getting my clothes repaired. It wouldn't have to look great, just hold together. An obvious patch would be fine, as long as it looks well done.

Any mail in services that could do this? Recommendations for local tailors (Eastern MA)? Or, should I just throw out the torn stuff, and move on?

Thanks,

Chris

Sure there is. In Raleigh I have used a tailor that patches with material laying around and charging accordingly. Some how he even finds the black cycling type material for a "mend" ANother place might be to ask at REI for a name.

Good you were not hurt.

Pete,

Thanks, I hadn't thought of asking at REI for a tailor recommendation. I'll try that next time I'm there.

Rapha USA uses these folks

I have had some items repaired by them (via Rapha) and been very happy.

Showers Pass recommended them to me too, when I inquired about modifications to their pants. If I can't find a local place, I'll get in touch with them.

Thanks,

Chris

Katherine at Col d'Lizard (http://coldlizard.com) might be able to help. She has done some some work for me (convert all my jerseys to full zip). I am pretty sure she does repairs too.
