I am trying to decided on the build for a new to me '04 CDA (thank you GPdavis2!). I decided to leave the dark side (Shimano) :D and go for a Chorus build kit. To my eye, the Campy Carbon is aesthetically superior. Is there any compelling functional reason to choose one over the other?

I have ridden both ,and know folks who have had them for an extended time.

My personal view if that they are both functionally on par.

For the CSI that I built up, I chose the Campy. This was based on my personal like for the looks though.

Have fun biulding it up and post some pictures.

IMO than any compact I have used and you have a good range of chainring choices (50/34, 48/34, 50/36). Why not go with the new Centaur since I hear it is 110BCD instead of the campy standard on the carbon compact stuff. I have a Chorus CT and love it, but I would choose Centaur (with a Phill BB, of course) in a second.

my FSA carbon/EXO 50-34 shifts perfectly w/ DA 10 speed gruppo.

I have a 50/34 Centaur CT alloy crank, with the new 111mm Centaur bottom bracket. Couldn't be happier. Shifts like buttah, only bettah!
