Sellwood Cycle has two Vanilla (cross (56 cm) and road (57 cm)) and a complete single speed Speedvagen Cross (56 cm tt) for sale

http://sellwoodcycle.com/?s=vanilla

The Vanilla cross looks promising at $1200...

Wow...I paid a LOT more than that for mine...I wonder why they're selling it so inexpensively? Bonus points for being orange!

looks like the cx and road (despite lookin brand new) are almost 10 y/o frames, so maybe that has something to do with it?
either way, great deal on any of the 3!

Hmmm, interesting. Isn't Portland Sacha's home base? Maybe some kind of megatrade for parts?

One could buy that cross bike, have it repainted by COAT, and still have a deal.

Oh man.... Why did I click in this thread? Now I must find funds to get that CX frame. I got a SV Surprise Me road coming tomorrow..

Would love to Repaint that CX frame and paint match the fork as well.

Not crazy about the fork...but really loving the frame. I have absolutely no need for this bike, so why am I thinking about it???

Aaaaaaaaarggggghhhhh! I'm sitting on a Southwest flight and they're blocking access to the Sellwood site. What are they asking for the SV and the Vanilla road?

Would one of you fine fellows mind posting a couple of pics of the bikes in this thread?

Thanks!

Is the price for the single speed complete or frame fork only? It lists the drive train gearing so I am thinking complete. Damn you for posting this!

I totally dig this one. I missed the very similar bike that was sold by xjahx some time last year. So similar that I'm wandering if it's not the same bike actually. Alas... No money, no candy :(

Worse than that: pusher. I mean, he's offered to front the money for Tex. Sure, it sounds like Christian is being a good guy. But how different is this, really, than "the first taste is free, baby"? I feel like we're watching an after-school special.

Don't pull a Alec Baldwin "words with friends" & get kicked off the plane for refusing to get off the forum!

Ha! Good point. :)

The SV is a really cool bike, but I'm going to pass on it. If it was geared, I'd be taking Christian up on his offer. However, I can't justify a fancy SS that would be rarely used.

Thanks again for the help guys!

Those are about the most inelegant brake straddle wire hangers that you'll ever see on a bike as nice as that Speedvagen SS cross.

That shop/site has very reasonable prices on their used bikes. Better than most of the knuckleheads on Craigslist.

I've been pacing back and forth in my office for the last hour. Send Payment, don't send payment. ha

I try to stay off the internet, because there's always stuff going on and it never helps when friends keep texting you deals. Veloflex tires, Rapha sale, Vanilla CX in my size, etc.

Since I'm the one who started this thread...

Built in 2004. Measures 55.5 x 55.5 ctc

Anyone know how much a full repaint by Coat would cost?

Wasn't your Speedvagen CX a 56 and too small?

Last quote I got from Coat on a refinish was around $750.

Erik and the bunch at Sellwood are pretty solid. I've purchased a bunch of stuff from them including a bike. Great guys.
