It is interesting that they seem to be displaying more of their casual wear than the actual race kit -- also interesting that they'll be decking the team out in everyday wear as well..

the entire range of street, casual, and race wear in now on the rapha website, but not all is available to purchase yet. lots of pictures. the obvious design implementation is the rapha arm band livery. that said, is there any innovation?

I can't really say that I had any expectation of innovation.. it's been said ATH that the Sky Aesthetic and Rapha kind of followed suit. And pink in the peloton is usually reserved for the maglia rosa :) (well, obviously not always, but pink has never been a part of sky's image so why do it now..?)

Rapha's brand identity has always been an understated look, which demands LACK of innovation. Trying to meld that philosophy into an advertising and branding-driven economy seems like a rather impossible task, I think they did rather well.

Still wouldn't buy Rapha though.

yes, although many of the other teams have quite tasteless and tacky jersey designs. OPQS just ruined their clean lines with a black spray fade effect.

I'm not a fan of the splashy "throw the paint tubes in the fan" look that has been rife as-of-late. This kit looks "business-like". I HATE the hipster Rapha casual wear, though.

Also: part of the function of cycling wear is to work well and be cheap enough to replace on a reasonable basis. Rapha is not that.

Jeebus....just Jeebus. How hipster can you get before it becomes toxic?

So Sky is sticking with Pinarello for this new season?

I would have thought that they might have been able to squeeze more money out of another manufacturer. Tough times?

. . . examples of recent kits that look like this would be nice. I'm not advocating that everybody go back to Domina Vacanze zebra stripes of ten years ago, but I've seen nothing lately I'd call "splashy." At least those kits of some years ago made it really easy to tell which team was which. Most recent pro kits seem to be color blocks/bands and block lettering.

They all seem as if they've been designed by a committee that has been tasked with simply listing the sponsor's names and otherwise making it as indistinctive and unoffensive as possible.

I doubt they had much wiggle room on the kits, given sponsor requirements and whatnot.

Looks good I think.

I am a pretty shameless and unapologetic Rapha fan though.

"High-performance socks made using three exclusive types of yarn, each positioned to provide maximum wicking, improved durability and to ensure the socks retain their whiteness for longer. Available in two lengths."

Three different types of yarn!!!!! I am going to be styling this February!!!

Those were ahead of their time. Jeggings are very popular now.

I actually think the Rapha style of melding of subtle logos into cycling wear is a good trend. Plenty of clothing from other sports made it into mainstream daily wear. Golf and tennis, for example. Rapha makes it possible that you can wear cycling wear on daily basis without looking like a billboard.

Same was true when SKY went to black--at first. Get rid of the radioactive yellow-green and it's just another solid jersey covered with lettering.

I have an idea. When a doper sweats his/ her jersey changes color.

I love that they're going from Adidas-branded Nalini/MOA kit to Rapha-branded Nalini/MOA kit.
