So I have a set of wheels that I THOUGHT were built with de-stickered open pro rims...but after taking a caliper to em, they are NOT open pros.

just over 16mm deep and 20mm wide.

they are black and have a different seam than an OP.

the overall SHAPE of the rim looks to be about the same though, just slightly shallower and wider.

is there a database somewhere that I could look through rim depths and such?

thanks in advance for any help!

in the mean time - are the rims eyeletted?

they are eyeletted and look almost identical to open pros, just wider and not as tall/deep.

i was thinking they might be MA3's but the seam on the rims don't look like a "mavic" seam to me...

Well hopefully they're not MA3's seeing as there's quite a price and quality jump between the 2.

20 or 23 mm width? They could be DT's? Do they have little tiny dimples on the braking surface? That's usually a telltale for DT's.

not dt's - no wear indicators, 20mm wide, and not as deep.

heres a pic (shows the seam as well):

Is wider at the tire bed than in the spokes area?? Looks familiar to something I have moving around but asking to be sure.

If you can't identify them outright, then try my homebrew ERD measuring system:

Homebrew ERD Measuring System Part III. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/53479013@N00/3540215134/in/photostream/)

Basically, take 2 spokes of known length, preferably shorter than the rim's ERD, and screw some nipples on to where you'd like the finished tensioned spokes to end up. Maybe Loctite 'em in place.

Insert them into the rim from the tire bed side, elbow first, from holes in the rim opposite each other.

Line up the spokes as in the photo and measure the gap between them. Heck; you could use a ruler if you didn't have a vernier. It's probably more accurate to measure to the centerline of the spokes vs. the way I show the vernier measuring, but I've found "as is" accurate enough.

Add the known length of the 2 spokes to the gap you measure and you have your ERD.

That's how I do it.
