Those were done by an outfit called gage and desoto. Last time I checked, they were sold out of them and I am not certain they will make any more. They have other cool stuff. Worth a look.

Pop 1/3 cup worth of popcorn kernels.

Melt 3 Tbsp butter. Mix in a Tbsp ground cumin and a Tbsp (or more!) Sriracha.

Salt popcorn, then drizzle mixture and toss to coat.

Do it now.

Fooo.. that'd be cool to rock on the bike :)

How bad ass would you look?

"Water? I spit on water. I'm so bad ass I drink Sriracha on my rides to hydrate."

... course it might account for why I'm so dang slow...

I would love one as well. The Huffington Post indicates they possibly didn't have permission...

Update: Sadly, it appears that these water-bottles have been discontinued indefinitely, likely due to the official Sriracha folks taking notice of this cheeky product.

Looks like at min order of 50 bottles
22oz specialized purists with moflow would cost around 409+tax

About $10 a bottle then the headache of shipping.

yoshirider

on their site, it says its $75 extra if you're ordering less than 50.

I did the 50 bottle option because I figured we could find enough people.

I'd probably take 4 as this will almost definitely be a one time thing.

Instead of "Gage and Desoto" it could even say "Paceline Forum"

So far were at 15 or so.

I'm dealing with Specialized right now for a custom bottle order, and I don't think a bootleg Sriracha logo would sit too well with the design department...

let's try anyway. i already made a quick conversion of a label i found on the web to Adobe Illustrator format. we can also try using a different vendor to get the bottles printed. these guys will do it too: http://www.sharperbrand.com/products/2406190-2406.html

I'm all for it if it can be done legally and legitimately. Otherwise you will need to take this off forum. We can't have the appearance of condoning copyright infringement.

Not the be the party pooper here, but according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_hot_sauces) Sriracha has a Scoville heat rating of about 2200. Compare that to Tabasco Habanero which is > 7000, and my baseline for pretty hot, you guys are making a fuss about not much at all.

If it could be done legally the company that did it originally would still be making them. There is a clear reason they are never going to be making them again...

I've heard about those - twice as painful.

I'm not into insane stuff, but it does bug me when I buy something labeled "Hot" and I can barely taste it.

When I was a little kid we had a Pequin pepper (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pequin_pepper) plant right outside the back door. One day I decided that they looked like candy and ate one. I can still remember the pain...

Pequin (or Piquin) pepper (pronunciation: pee/puh-KEEN) is a hot chile pepper cultivar commonly used as a spice. Taxonomically, it is classified within variety glabriusculum of the species Capsicum annuum.[1]

Pequin has a compact habit growing typically 0.3–0.6 meters tall, with bright green, ovate leaves and small fruits that rarely exceed 2 cm in length. Like most chiles, fruits start out green, ripening to brilliant red at maturity. Pequin peppers are very hot, often 13–40 times hotter than jalapeños on the Scoville scale (100,000–140,000 units). Flavor is described as citrusy, smoky (if dried with wood smoke), and nutty.[2]

It's not the heat, it's the flavor. It's got a zing to it but it's by no means an "OMG my head is going to explode" type heat.

Mrs. William thinks I desecrate her mashed potatoes when I mix Sriracha into it.:)

I have been rolling ideas around in my head since these first sold out... I thought a good idea would be to contact Sriracha directly and seeing what they would want to let someone make a run of these. I would want to do the exact logo instead of some cheesy knock off. The problem being is I do not have the cash to do it.

It's just a filing so far, not an actual shutdown. Regardless, there are other options - the red jalapeno sauce made in Rosemeade is just an approximation of Sriracha, which is a Thai sauce made with a different chili. I prefer Shark Brand. Also, the "R" is silent. It's See-ra-cha - not that any of this will change people referring to Huy Fong generically as Sriracha.

A little background on this: http://www.bonappetit.com/trends/article/the-original-sriracha

I lived in Thailand and am a big chilihead anyway. I grew my own Ghost/Jhut Bolokia and ate them for breakfast. I don't find the Huy Fong that hot.

I'm thinking they may just want some positive PR about now... maybe even some extra dosh from licensing fees ;-)
