Here's the skinny...doing a big ride in holland this summer. Should be sufficiently warm, but the chance of rain is always good. I need a good rain jacket for a tall guy with long arms, warmth not important. Recommendations? (and don't say garbage bag!)

O2 Rainwear's (http://o2rainwear.com/) original hooded jacket. Picked one up out of desperation on a rainy RAGBRAI day a few years ago.

It's waterproof. Really.

It breathes. Really.

It packs small. Really.

It costs ~$30.

Really.

I will 2d this. Showerspass Pro Tech ST stores pretty small, to fit in a jersey pocket.

Personally, I travel with a jacket more useful on and off the bike, not something bike specific.

Try this: http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/mens-torrentshell-waterproof-rain-jacket?p=83800-0-791

BTW the Houdini is more of a wind shirt that will handle a spit of rain. The O2 jacket for $30 is a waste of money IMO. Maybe the better ones they make are okay but...you get what you pay for.

Have fun

The challenge with non-cycling specific is the overall fit and features. Having a longer tail is many time a big benefit as is a more tailored fit so it's not flapping in the wind constantly. The need to moisture transfer is much greater riding than many other types of outdoor activities.
