Lots of Stickys?

When I access the forum on my laptop, I only see 2 non-sticky threads 'above the fold', the rest of the screen real estate is taken up with sticky threads. I understand the importance of getting message out to forum members, I'm just wondering if there is a way we can dismiss them if they're not relevant to us?

Well I can see like 20 non-sticky threads so I don't really care. Did you at one point change your settings so you could only see 10 threads a page? I'd reinvestigate that move.

Didn't mean to make waves, I understand the need for sticky threads. But for some, I just wish I could hide them or dismiss them (for instance, the polls, once I've voted on them; or the forum rules thread, once I've read it, and I'm not regularly violating the rules, it would be nice to hide it or dismiss, etc.)

Anyway, I recognize the need for them, was just looking for a compromise between getting word out to us and keeping the main forum clean.



PS. Thanks for removing some of them, whoever is doing that... but misses the point I am making above... That usually the sticky does have a legitimate reason.
