Basically, like one of those charts of the cuts of meat on a pig. There's not as much surface area on a bike, so it could be tough, but was just curious if you'd seen any.

Cheers,
Matt

Yes, I'm aware it's a picture of a model. But it is a model of a real car with that paint scheme.

My first reaction is to look up Giro d'italia in Google...this one is in progress, I am sure there are others out there in the history of the race.

Matt, with all due respect to your right to select the paint scheme of your choice, "cuts of meat on a pig" would not be my inspiration for a bike paint job.

It would be one of a kind, but beyond that... ;)

Do it!

I imagine that the effect of that sort of paint scheme would be lost on the relatively narrow tubes of a bike frame.

Can't say it appeals to me but it would be different that's for sure

It would work on a Specialized Shiv with Zipp 1080's...

I agree - I think the scheme might not transfer from the large flat areas of the Porsche to the small round tubes on a bike.

Cool car though!

My next carbon frame might be getting a jigsaw puzzle pattern!

Anybody with a cheappo pedal force to unload for not much money? :p

Well, we're on the same page there. I could have explained the backstory a bit.... A friend of mine who is into cars told me about this "pink piggy" porsche, and I looked it up. It is an interesting 'out of the box' paint job, so I wondered if a bike had been done that way.

It is not in the running, in any way, shape or form for the paint job I'm considering for the new frame. That said, if I had another frame done and wanted to have some fun with it, I could see something similar to this on the bike....

I see two visions... something similar to this, in pink, with labels either in italian or french for the parts of the bicycle... le top tube, le left seat stay, etc... or maybe even the cuts of meat as if it were an animal.

Second vision which is kind of interesting would be best described as a frame that is painted as an engineering diagram or blue print. Maybe in a blue color with lots of white pencil type markings, measurements, labels, angles, etc. Almost I think that could actually be a pretty cool and original paint job, and if it was done well, I figure it'd be pretty popular at a show like NAHBS...

I dig that paint scheme a lot. I've seen one in person, at Ride studio cafe in Lexington, MA. Not exactly what I was looking for with this post, but that is a very cool frame indeed!

Christian, I have no idea what that is. Did you just google meat bicycle?

Guilty as charged, your honor. But what's the deal with the sword?

I seem to recall Sacha White as having one painted in two-tone pink not too long ago.

A few months ago someone posted some pictures of a Look frame that was painted with a patchwork of different coloured squares / rectangles etc. Now that looked really cool

. . . their "Mondrian" scheme.

Why not do the whole thing while you're at it? :p
