You know those shifter parts that always get scratched on 6510 model shifters. A googling would suggest everyone of those has now left the planet. Do you think/know is it a temporary out of stock or a permanent state of giving up the ghost?

Glad to send a self addressed stamped envelope if you have few just laying around :)

and the 6510 are different. But maybe they are interchangable. Do you know?

I *believe* they are. The cosmetic and mechanical differences were minor. The left and right nameplates are the same.

A word of caution, based on personal experience; when you remove/install the name plates, use a magnetized screwdriver. You won't believe how tiny and how easy to lose those screws are.

Could be, but they have a different part number. The difference could be something as simple as a finish; frosted VS shiny or they could be completely different. I don't know.

Try Jensen or some of the other larger online parts suppliers. I bought a pair of 6510 plates for like $15 shipped last summer...

Pretty sure I have them. They ARE different that 6501 type. Also different than R600.
