I would like to have a set of king stainless cages powdercoated, anyone know of a mail-in service that does this kind of thing for reasonable cost?

black or another color? most local shops would be able to do it for you no problem. they're used to getting single parts to do for restoration projects.

maybe i should look into a local place.

find a local place and ask about colors in stock; basically, shops need to buy specific color powders; maybe someone like Spectrum blends their own, but most shops buy them.

if you can work with an in-stock color, it'll make it quicker and cheaper.

If it's a non-stock and not a color they're running on other jobs, you will likely be charged for 2# of paint and a set up fee.

I would open up your Yellowpages (do they still print these?) and look under metal finishes or powder coating. Almost every town of any size will have at least one. There are 3 in the bozeman area and we are a very small town.

I've seen their stuff. Nice work!

They are local.

If you can't find something local, you might want to check out http://www.powdercoatstudio.com/, operated by Dennis Bean, the same guy who manages the fixedgeargallery site. I've never worked with him, but the prices seem excellent. I keep looking over at an old Trek with 531 tubing thinking I'll get it repainted/powdercoated.

http://www.purelycustom.com/ has lots of adonized colors and they offer bottle cages. Might be worth checking them out. Their stuff is good quality too.

If you don't find a shop another option you may want to look at is diy. I know that Sears as well as harbor freight sells home powder coating kits.
