Took off a little early from work to get in a quick ride up the local sufferfest before dark. So many choices, but only one was calling to me today: Mont St. Martin. Very short, at only 5k, but with ~500m vertical and pretty constant at 10%. I'm sure I've posted about it before. It's described on the Grenoble Cycling page (http://www.grenoblecycling.com/Grenoble-LocalRoads.htm) as the "baby brother of Alpe d'Huez". It never feels easy to me, and today was no exception, but man was the weather and scenery glorious. I keep trying to get velotel on this one, but no dice so far. Probably not as difficult as his local ride up from La Terasse to St. Bernard du Touvet, but a worthy ride. Skip to the descent if the ascent music annoys you :) I know there are some people here that enjoy hearing Yo la Tengo butcher the classics like me.

I liked the video and the music. You get a great feel for the hill watching the descent. I'll put it on the list of "European dream climbs"!

Because to do that I have to traverse Grenoble, with all the horrible traffic!

yeah it has been pretty bad. But now that you have that sweet luxury vehicle, it shouldn't matter! Or better yet: your place->Col de Coq->Porte->Quaix->Mont St. Martin heh heh

just bought some Elite rollers after not having ridden a set for twenty years... no handed?! not anytime soon. I'm just happy staying upright.
