hey NC crew, can you suggest a good web resource for Carolinas rides (organized and/or suggested self guided, etc). Or, if anyone's planning some fall mileage in the Charlotte area, let me know. cheers

Check out the NCBC site under annual centuries. NCBC is based in the Raleigh area so some of them are local, but it also has all the major rides in state. hope it helps. http://ncbikeclub.org/

Ok...about NC rides:

So...a few four years ago or so I was headed to NC, Asheville area and I came across a pdf of a batch of cue sheets for a group of rides with elevations, cue sheets, mileage etc., for all the rides. I don't remember if it was Tour de Ralph or Frank, but it was something like that.

I can't find the PDF on the web now...any ideas?

Here's another good one I had forgotten about from my high school riding days: http://www.tarheelcyclists.org/

Time to rejoin, I believe, now that I'm back in the saddle :bike:

I'll keep looking for the Tour De Fred, Ginger, sounds cool.

send a pm to Pete or SPOKES here on the Board. They ride with a group of fantastic folks (I've ridden down there with them a few times) out of North Raleigh.

The Road Dogs . . . their motto is "we only drop our friends." You gotta love it.

Justin, what part of the state are you looking to ride? Folks have given some good sites for RTP area. I also have some ride sheets or the ASHEVILLE area if that is what you are interested in.

I'm in Charlotte so Asheville is very possible, and I really enjoy riding in the mountains this time of year. I don't make it up to the Triangle often for riding purposes, actually. You live in Asheville? I lived in Mars Hill right before I moved back to Charlotte, good riding up that way too.

Justin, I wish I could get the family to move to ASHEVILLE - - I would be there in a heart beat. Spent the last two weeks there and even had SPOKES up there last weekend,

Look at routes and let me know which you like - then give me a yell and we can discuss. Really good climb is Route 80 out of Marion....

THe Hilly Metric and Back Door to Marshall are great. Leaves should be at their peak by next weekend.
