Thanks for thelovely pix. Is the fireplace the remains of an long-gone house?

From the size of your bike, you are taller than you write.

William

Ken - Thanks. To the best of my knowledge it is the remaining fire place of an old house.

Velotel - The feeling is mutual my friend.

Looks like a wonderful, peaceful ride. I assume the "Pass At Your Own Risk" sign is due to the road not being maintained or monitored, not that you're trespassing and will be shot for trespassing (which is a risk in my neck of the woods, well, prairie).

William

...thanks for blessing me beyond belief.
met my eldest daughter and my mom for lunch
and then tooled around for nearly an hour
riding trail
and steering clear of traffic
to avoid putting the delta brakes to the test in the rain!

You are correct. Though I was thinking having the SR9 with me might not be a bad idea if some hunters decide to pepper me. You know, I look like a big deer.... on wheels.;)

Maybe tomorrow. Possibly a morning ride before the Nor'easter hits.

Great pics, been off the bike past week due to temps hovering around zero. Inspired to ride, damn the temps.

Got another brisk morning ride in today. I was racing to beat the Nor'easter that is blowing in. I didn't want to get caught in the snow/sleet and the wind was really picking up. I was starting to get a little nervous about trees and branches weakened by Sandy last week coming down on me so only a few shots today.

Mainly double track roads crossing pastures with some single tracks connecting them...

Crossing a pasture to a short rocky climb...

One more gratuitous 29er shot. I really dig how this bike handles...;)

You got it Spidey! I love the retro look of the bike as well and it really does handle nicely.

You might want to check out Inglis's Retrotec rides. Very similar designs...

Anytime. I've had a number of forum friends visit over the years to ride the area...and then there is the Ramble ride as well.

I went for a Thanksgiving morning ride while the turkey was roasting in the oven and the guests were not due for a couple hours...

A more modern (or is that Mo-dern) take on a New England rock wall...
.

William
11-23-2012, 09:14 AM
Not many cars around at all. Folks all working on the days feast...

.

William
11-23-2012, 09:16 AM
That sign means I'll find gravel....

.

William
11-23-2012, 09:17 AM
Decision point: Pavement or gravel.....;)

.

William
11-23-2012, 09:19 AM
Let's explore....:)

Starts out as hard pack, smooth and fast...
.

William
11-23-2012, 09:21 AM
Oh yeah, I know what one of those signs mean.....fun! The road starts tilting up. Rocky, rutted, and loose...

.

William
11-23-2012, 09:22 AM
Quads are feeling it at this point....

.

William
11-23-2012, 09:24 AM
Getting steep at this point and the ruts are getting deep...

.

William
11-23-2012, 09:27 AM
Hard to tell in this photo but the rut is so deep its up over my hubs. I had to shoulder the bike on a couple of sections but it was a blast. Had to hurry up and get back to get cleaned up for arriving guests so no more pictures. A great workout and I had no qualms about stuffing myself the rest of the day!;)

William, don't know how I missed this thread the first time around. Looked like a great fall ride, nice wheels too, especially for that terrain.

Molly: Most of the pictures are from the East Greenwich/Exeter/West Greenwich areas. I'll throw some up soon of riding around Arcadia.

Bobswire: Thanks! I have a couple more to add thanks to BBDave....
