IRD 11s speedlink question

I installed the Snap link IRD 11 speed on my record 11 chain today... Apparently you have to put it in a given direction and mine is backward I think.

How do you remove this thing ? the small documentation coming with it talks about "master link pliers".

This or anything like it. You can get them for around $15 USD.

Can be done with needle nose pliers too by pinching the 2 pins together. An extra set of hands is helpful if available.
