Anyone else break out their orange bikes in recognition of the second biggest holiday? Here is my orange ride with the Cayucos beach and Morro Bay in the background. Beautiful 75-80 degree day. Lots of riders out taking advantage of the weather.

so envious of you Mid/SoCal guys right now... and the fact I'm orange-bikeless right now... hopefully going to remedy that with an orange Black Mountain Cycles Road before next Halloween... :)

. . . but my pal Kevin and I had a nice ride today around town. He had to head home after 30 so I cruised around a bit more on my own. There's still some foliage and most of the bike trail was deserted.

Orange bike, check. Rideable weather in AK, not so much.

Where is that, Anchorage? No snow on the ground here yet...

Fall riding is some of the best rides to be found anytime. The weather is beautiful, the relentless winds of winter have yet to kick in and the self-induced mania for developing speed is off the table. After all, even for those of us Northern Hemisphericals that ride through the winter, no point to building form and thinking it can be held until next April.

From yesterdays ride and sadly, likely the last one this season in shorts and SS jersey. No ride today - Sandy said no.

One final thought. This is a new bike that I am dialing in. For anyone who gets aches and pains when cycling, I feel your pain. Literally. This is OK only maybe in February after a winter layoff, but never in October after an entire riding season. And the lesson to this story is: when the fit & position is off by even a little bit, it makes things hurt that aren't supposed to hurt. I will again change out to a longer stem: from 125 now 135 and finally to 140. It will no longer hurt when it is dialed in. So I'll keep on dialing until there's no pain and that's when I know I'm there.

Middle-aged and middle-class Timothy Love (played by Eddington) is a confirmed bachelor who is nonetheless happy with his marital status and his life; since he has a good job, plenty of money, the availability of girlfriends whenever he wants them, and cherished freedom. Until a mother-of-three, Judy (played by Newman) enters his life. Timothy will find Judy different to all the other women he has courted in the past; in contrast with all the others, Judy is the type of woman with which he feels he can 'settle down'. They become engaged, and Timothy's realising of the effort he has to do to change his life and do away with his old individualism will prove the main theme of the show.

I rode 35 miles today, and didn't see a single pumpkin.

Sorry, no orange bike here.

. . . after we finished riding on Saturday at Dirtphalt and they had gotten a new shipment. If you buy one beware the sizing . . . they run at least one size small.
