So basically a 9-5, sedentary lifestyle is killing us.

So basically a 9-5, sedentary lifestyle is killing us.Actually it's much more complex... flexibility about time in general, lots of organic food but not a lot of meat, enjoying friends, naps, exercise, no defined retirement per se...

oh, yeah... coffee and wine, too.

I am fortunate to attend my second hundredth birthday this coming Saturday. My Grandmothers sister, in remarkable condition. The usual things have worn out, knees, lower back, etc. Her mind is in sharp condition, a pleasure to speak with with. Her sister is 98, an still going strong.

Limited alcohol, no smoke, lots of exercise. Good genes, perhaps? God bless.

It's gotta be the naps.

If you're male and want to increase your lifespan, castration has been found to work wonders. No kidding.

http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/25/health/eunuchs-lifespan/index.html

Talk about a longevity strategy no man wants to pursue. A recent study published in the journal Current Biology finds that Korean eunuchs — castrated men — lived 14 to 19 years longer than other men, suggesting that male sex hormones play a role in life span.

I like this part:

She also pointed out a preliminary study of Ikarian men between 65 and 100 that included the fact that 80 percent of them claimed to have sex regularly, and a quarter of that self-reported group said they were doing so with “good duration” and “achievement.”
