I have an '08 Specialized Tarmac in blue.
Was running a Thomson post but a bought a carbon from a red and black Tarmac for the carbon, zerts and looks.
Problem is that the red on the post doesn't look so good with the blue color scheme of the rest of the bike.
Putting a post trade for a better match on hold for now any ideas for changing the red striping on the post to get better aesthetics?
Is it a decal that is removable or is there clear coat over it?
Actual experience appreciated, suggestions considered.

you have the post correct? you should easily be able to tell if its over or under the clearcoat, just use your fingernail, it'll be pretty obvious. (it might be painted on too...)

Yes, I have the seatpost, it's on the bike.
Made a halfhearted attempt to remove the stripe with my thumbnail before mounting it.
If it's under clear coat may have to let a professional handle or try to mask over somehow.
Feeling out what others have done.
