kind of interesting just from the sandpoint of watching carbon fiber buckle.

Wow! I saw those guys race a couple of weeks ago. Those boats are amazing machines-incredibly fast. And yes, that must have been an expensive endo.

That was cool to watch...

I'm surprised that it lasted that long loaded like that.

Pretty impressive when you consider the same part made from the same mass in metal wouldn't have held together under standard sailing conditions, much less being loaded by the stress of cables trying to pull the craft upright.

I wonder if the hull/mast falls under the same warranty as a frame replacement? Doubt it.

That seems to be a different incident from 2011 (although no less cool).

The CNN video shows a boat that's absolutely destroyed and was posted today.
